Children progress through developmental stages at a very rapid rate in their first years of life. That’s why it’s critical… and not always easy… to choose books that are suited to their current stage. This will ensure that the formats, concepts, illustrations, text and interactivity are not overly simple or too complex to be engaging.
Perhaps the most important characteristic of a book, though, is that it is fun. Not just for the child but for the caregiver, too, so that reading is always enjoyable for everyone. A love of books from an early age forms a good foundation for learning which can last a lifetime.
